Step into a place where reverence meets warmth. At Christ the King Lutheran Church, the timeless liturgy, Scripture, and Sacrament draw us into the presence of Christ Himself—who still comes to forgive, strengthen, and give peace. We would be honored to welcome you this Sunday.
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I warmly invite you to join us for worship at Christ the King. In the Divine Service, our Lord comes to us through His Word and Sacraments, forgiving sins, strengthening faith, and granting His peace. It’s a time to rest in His grace, be enriched by His Word, and be renewed by His presence. You are most welcome to come and receive His good gifts with us.

We are a reverent and liturgical congregation, using exclusively the hymnal.
Christian Service
We express God’s love to others through our support of HALO, Inc., a local program assisting the homeless, and also Place of Refuge, a crisis pregnancy center serving South Wisconsin.
As confessional Lutherans, we believe that we are saved by grace through faith for the sake of Jesus Christ’s death upon the cross. This truth is revealed to us through the words of Holy Scriptures which alone are our source of doctrine and belief. We believe that this Biblical faith is faithfully confessed in the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian creeds and in the Book of Concord. Q: I’ve never been to church before. How does this work? Do I make a reservation? Do I just show up?
A: You can just show up! There is no need to make a reservation or to call beforehand. We have space for you, and we often have people just show up.However, you might feel more comfortable if you talked with us before arriving.
Even if you don’t talk with us before coming, you are welcome here.
Q: Where do I sit?
A: You are welcome to sit anywhere you wish. Seating is not reserved.
Q: Do I have to participate?
A: You are welcome to participate in the worship service to the extent that you feel comfortable. You do not need to sing any hymns or speak the creed or any other responses.
In general, it is polite to stand when the rest of the congregation stands and to sit when they sit, if you are able. However, if you are unable to stand or feel uncomfortable standing for the portions of the worship service when we stand, you are free to remain seated.
Q: What about communion?
A: The Lord's Supper today is celebrated at our altar in the sure and glad confidence that, just as Jesus said, He feeds us with His Body and Blood in this Sacrament. Because this Sacrament confesses unity of doctrine and faith (1 Cor. 11:17ff), and because "it requires all hearts to believe," we ask that anyone who has not received the Lord's Supper at this altar from Pastor Otten first speak to him before the Divine Service.
Q: Does it cost anything?
A: Our worship services are provided free-of-cost.
If you wish to contribute, we take a freewill offering at our church and also offer online giving.
However, do not feel compelled to leave a contribution.
Q: How do I dress?
A: We recommend dressing a little nicer for church, but dress in what you feel is appropriate for service.
Q: Are children welcome?
A: Yes! Children sit with their parents during church services.
Q: Where do I park?
A: We have ample onsite parking.
Christ the King is a Lutheran Church. This means that we are a Christian church that:
Bases its teachings on the Bible.
Emphasizes salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross.
Embraces God’s Word, the sacraments, and prayer as the center of Christian worship.
Engages in acts of Christian witness and love locally, domestically, and abroad.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a denomination that confesses the historic, orthodox Christian faith, a faith built on “the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone” (Eph. 2:20).
The LCMS, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is mission-oriented and Bible-based. LCMS doctrine reflects the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther, as summarized in The Book of Concord: The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Churches in Racine play a vital role in building community, offering hope, and sharing God’s grace and mercy. Christ the King stands as a prime example—welcoming neighbors, serving those in need, and above all, extending the grace of God in Jesus Christ to all.
